Of course I tally it up to having indoor/outdoor kittens. Come to think of it, I have never had a snake problem either. =) I like rodents and snakes on my own terms but not when they invade my home!! When we first moved into our house in Sheridan, my mom used to set out a large bowl full of water with food floating in the middle. We would wake up to a floating body or two. She brought home a couple of kittens, when my brother was bitten by a mouse and she had to take him to the ER just to prove to him that he didn't have rabies. It was the only way to calm him down. =) I hope you win the war!!.... Although I ALMOST feel sorry for the "4 headed, 16 footed, multi-whiskered friend," they had it coming. The doctors told us it was from rat urine. He had tried to dispose of a rat without wearing gloves or a mask and ended up inhaling some of the dried urine and more than likely some of it got in the teeny tiny cracks on his hand. The doctor said he had something similar to Hanta virus, but it was a disease they couldn't figure out. All because of a rat. People just don't understand how dangerously dirty these things are,...they don't take precaution enough when disposing of them. My dad was so ill, he couldn't walk. His eyes were blood red. To this day, he doesn't heal the same. I have a few Talkative Friends that really amount to one-sided friendships. I don't mind listening to them and I have accepted that they are not likely to pause and ask me many questions. I think they miss out on a richer friendship because of this. The friends that I count as my closest are indeed those who are OK with silence. In thinking about her question, I have come up with the following conclusion:

I believe that, initially, a child being brought up in an environment with "no baggage" would be great. There would be no emotional, physical, or spiritual problems in the person's life. However, because there would be no problems, how would this person adjust when stepping out into the real world? Would s/he be okay with everyone else having problems and listening to those problems, or would they simply fall apart not knowing how to advise another because they have never come close to experiencing anything remotely similar? Another thought...how would s/he learn to rely on Gid for his strength and comfort?

I think that certain situations happen so that we can learn to rely on God, and that maybe someday might be able to help someone else in need as well. Don't get me wrong; I believe that we should try our best to raise kids in the manner in which Rach speaks of; however, when we can't always get it right, we turn to God for strength, and figure out just exactly what God is trying to tell us.

No matter how each of us was brought up, it is what we decide to make of it that will either make us stronger, or weaker.

Just my input.Hollyhttp://hotmail.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2280392821455284766.post-64449358211428637832009-09-28T01:23:56.263-07:002009-09-28T01:23:56.263-07:00With that rear shot - It looks like two "Pews...With that rear shot - It looks like two "Pews" in one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2280392821455284766.post-61643102782055168322009-09-27T22:34:57.969-07:002009-09-27T22:34:57.969-07:00lol, Holly!

I had just started my second year of college and was about to hit the shower on my way to school that morning. I turned on the TV and was immediately shocked at what was on. I believe I began watching the news right after the second plane hit the second tower. I remember the vivid images of dust, metal, and flame filling the screen as New Yorkers scrambled in the streets. As I made it to school that morning, my classmates were all huddled in the Student Union building watching the news. By then the third plane had already hit the Pentagon and the fourth was brought down before it reached its target (speculated to be either the capitol or the White House).

We were attacked! The last real attack on America was Pearl Harbor. There may have been others but I could only think of Pearl Harbor and that led us to join WWII. Sept 11 caused more death and they were mostly civilians!

Travis, I couldn't agree with you more in this post. We are all called to be Christian warriors in a very very real sense; both for our country as well as our own churches and homes.

I suppose I could go on but I feel that you already made the points I would so I'll just leave you with an AMEN! and may God bless you.William (Tommy) Porterhttp://www.nbbc-rathdrum.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2280392821455284766.post-86831119777022354542009-09-11T22:06:41.346-07:002009-09-11T22:06:41.346-07:00Eric, thanks for your comments. I always thought Rachael was a sweetheart, but this blog makes me like her more and more. My honey Stephanie thinks that She and Rachael quite possibly were separated at birth, due to their similar planning and organizing skills. Always ready to be ready, thats the motto I think. I mean if I ask if she's ready to go, she always says yes. I blame Walmart. Never before has there been such a large safety net for the always ready to be ready group. Anyways, I have decided that the best approach is to inform her of my plans and invite her along. If she's not ready.....see ya when I get back. Saves on headaches and trips to walmart in strange towns. Lol. Just kidding.....I have a practiced forced smile for those occasions...I imagine you do too.
Anyways, we really enjoy reading these posts. as they are quite entertaining.
